Dr Adam Naylor, PhD, BSc (Hons)
Clinic Director, Sport Science and Performance Lead
Adam is a BASRaT-registered Sport Rehabilitator, HCPC-registered Physiotherapist, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, British Triathlon Federation level 2 coach, and bike fitting professional.
Adam qualified in 2002 and has extensive experience of working in both elite sport and private practice. He has a special interest in exercise physiology of endurance sport and he achieved his PhD in exercise, fatigue, and recovery.
As well as providing services at M20 Health, Adam is a lecturer and researcher in sport rehabilitation at the University of Salford. He also provides the British Triathlon North West Academy – youth and junior athletes – with strength and conditioning, and injury prevention support.
Adam’s specialist services at M20 Health include bike fitting, physiological testing, gait analysis and run injury screening, and run and triathlon coaching.
Adam is a keen triathlete having competed across many events from sprint to iron-distance triathlons.
Ryan Gordon, MSc, BSc (Hons)
Clinic Director, Injury and Strength & Conditioning Lead
Ryan is a BASRaT-registered Sport Rehabilitator having qualified in 2016. Ryan also has a Masters degree in Strength and Conditioning.
He has extensive clinical experience working with musculoskeletal injuries in a range of client groups.
Ryan’s specialist services at M20 Health include injury assessment and rehabilitation, strength & conditioning, Shockwave therapy, and fitness testing.
Ryan is a former rugby player turned marathon distance runner.
Charlie Harding BSc (Hons)
Sport and Exercise Scientist, British Triathlon Level 2 Coach
Charlie is a Sport and Exercise Scientist and British Triathlon Level 2 coach with a special interest in human performance and exercise physiology of endurance sport.
Charlie is an accomplished triathlete and has competed for Great Britain. He is also a member of British Triathlon’s World Class Programme and has guided at the Paralympic (2024) and Commonwealth (2022) Games. Through personal experience and his degree studies, Charlie has extensive knowledge of the scientific analysis of performance, and he applies this to the training of athletes from a variety of sports from novice to elite level.
Charlie’s specialist services at M20 Health include physiological testing (including VO2max and lactate threshold tests) and endurance sport coaching.
Ryan Parker BSc (Hons)
Sport Rehabilitator, Swimming Teacher Level 2
Ryan has experience of working with athletes from a variety of sporting backgrounds, including professional sports teams such as Sale Sharks Rugby Club and Detroit Tigers Baseball Team. He also currently provides medical pitch-side provision for Burnage Rugby Club.
In addition to his work at M20 Health, Ryan is a Level 2 Swimming Teacher with over 10-years experience. He supports swimmers of all levels from those just wanting to improve their confidence and ability in the water to those training for an Ironman triathlon.
Ryan’s specialist services at M20 Health include injury assessment and rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and sports massage.
Vicky McKinnon, MSc, BSc (Hons)
Sports Nutritionist (SENr)
Vicky is a Sports Nutritionist. She has a Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Nutrition and is listed on the Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register.
She specialises in working with endurance athletes and has a level 3 coaching qualification in endurance running and triathlon. However, she enjoys working with all athletes to enhance health whilst preparing and recovering appropriately for training sessions and competitions.
Vicky also has an ISAK level 1 qualification and can carry out body composition measurements. Her other specialist service at M20 Health is providing resting metabolic rate (RMR) analysis.
Marie Cartwright MSc, BSc (Hons)
Sport and Exercise Psychologist
Marie provides Performance Psychology services at M20 Health.
She draws from her psychology, clinical and sporting backgrounds to examine and design
strategies to drive change and enhance individual and team performance.
With over 15 years involvement in high performance environments including elite sport and multi-disciplinary teams, Marie has a deep understanding of the mindset and culture of such settings, as well as the skills and experience to analyse behavioural patterns and support you in implementing tailored strategies leading to change and performance optimisation.
Marie is an ex-elite athlete and holds an array of coaching qualifications including World
Athletics (ex IAAF) Sprints coaching, Freediving instructor, PT, Spinning instructor, Boxercise
instructor.
Mark Scowcroft (BSc Hons)
Physiotherapist
Mark is a HCPC registered Physiotherapist with a specific interest in sports injuries. In addition to his clinical work at M20 Health, Mark is currently undertaking a Masters degree in Sports Injury Rehabilitation at the University of Salford, and an internship at Sale Sharks Rugby Club for the ‘24/‘25 season.
Mark has a keen sporting interest in rugby, but he has also previously completed ultra-marathon events, including the Lakeland 50 and 100, and Ironman triathlons. As a direct result, he has first-hand experience of the impact endurance sport can have on the body.
Mark’s clinical specialisms include sports massage, sports injury prevention, and sports rehabilitation.
Nikki Kelham, MSc, BSc (Hons)
Physiotherapist and Mummy MOT® Practitioner
Nikki is a HCPC-registered Physiotherapist, APPI Certified Pilates Instructor, Mummy MOT® Practitioner, and Natal Strength® Practitioner.
She specialises in working with women in the ante- and post-natal period, helping them to understand, strengthen, and regain function in their changing bodies.
Nikki’s specialist services at M20 Health include Mummy MOT® specialist assessment, core re-education and strengthening, post-natal strength training, and cesarean section scar tissue release.
